how do i find out the manufacturers of the motherboard. wheres the best plsce to look

You will need to go to whoever made your mainboard and download the drivers from them (I have an Asus mainboard and that's how I got my SoundMax drivers)

go to soundmax.com and download it.. or go to your pc manufacturer's site and see if you can download it there.
