Is the right keyboard driver(us-english default when installing Losdows the 1st time) setup in Losdows or regional settings?
An annoying 'sticky-key' like key-stroke changer activated?
Is the caps lock key activated?
Key spring missing or broken causing depression & sitting on the contact?

After checking & selecting the the right keyboard driver settings, it should work right!

When in Word, click Tools, Autocorrect. Scroll down and see if you find a replacement there. If someone else has access to your computer, they could be playing a harmless joke on you - or not. Anyway, check it out.

Keyboard doesn't match the installed language of the application.
