find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

It is impossible to lose weight from just one specific body area. So for example, doing 1,000 sit ups a day will not just help burn fat in your stomach but also your butt and thighs.
I would say just lower your caloric intake per day. Take however many calories you are getting in a day and decrease it by around 500. And stick to it! Also try to avoid those unhealthy foods like cookies and chips that are so hard to put down.
As for exercising, do about 3 min of cardio 4 times a week, and you should start seeing results in about a week or two.
Good luck.

I got a six pack by doing this every day.
4 sets of 15 sit ups on a declined ab bench.
10 sets of 30 crunches elbow to knee and middle on a declined ab bench.
6 of 20 tummy/leg lifts on a flat ab bench.
8 sets of 15 leg lifts side to side straight up and down on a roman chair.
all of this followed by more exercise and a healthy diet.
I know it seems like a lot to do but dont start off with alot/ work your way up! I lost 80 pounds and now im in the most fit shape of my life! Good luck! =)

Buy a pilates ball. Lay on your back on it with your arms crossed across your chest and your legs stretched out slightly apart. Start with 50 sit ups a day, gradually increasing every week. I know its hard with a baby around so wait until the baby is asleep. Take some time out for yourself. Good luck.

Cardio and dieting. Get enough protein (1 gram per lb) and spread your intake throughout the day--eating once every 2.5 - 3 hrs. Limit carbs to under 100 grams.
Sit-ups, crunches, etc, won't matter if you have fat covering the waist. Eating only 3 big meals per day slows your metabolism and makes your body store more fat.

well unfortunetly we cannot "spot reduce" an area, best way to loose that would be doing cardio and eat healthy. take in less calories in a day than your used to and burn more off with cardio. sit ups is good but will build the muscle there but not rid of the body fat.

A flat stomach is all about diet and cardio. Those are the only things that will burn fat from your body.
