You must be pretty ignorant to blame a political party for the acts of a lone person or for the fads of students. Your head is full of empty liberal ideals and promises. It's really quite shocking as to what the democrats have people believing that fall in to the trap of empty opinions, rather than on facts and figures.

Commonly believed myths:

1) The president can control gas prices.

Fact: Oil prices are controlled by two things...The world economy and the supply/demand quotient. The only control the president has over oil prices is the control over goverment oil reserves. Releasing oil reserves create a sudden surge in supply, thus creating a small decrease in prices in the short term. Next time you complain that you had to pay $2.79 for a gallon of gas, think about our European neighbors that are paying $2 to $3 for a liter of gas. For you liberals that don't bother with facts and figures, that works out to be $8 to $12 a gallon. $2.79 suddenly ain't so bad, is it?

2) Republicans get us in to wars.

Fact: In the modern era we have been in six major conflicts. Four out of these six were entered durring Democratic administrations. Two of the wars started under Democratic administrations were no feasibly win-able and were ended by Republican administrations.

3)The president is an all powerful being that can wave his/her mighty staff and change healthcare, end war and solve the countries economic woes.

Fact: The president is not omni-powerful. He can only enact laws that are first passed by congress. War is not simply in control of the president. It deeply involves Congress, Military leaders and Allied nations. Getting out of the middle east will not happen any time soon. People who rally around Hillary's "When I am elected president, I will bring the troops home" bullcrap are fools. It's not that simple. This is from the same folks who ran under the guise of "heathcare for all americans within 100 days". Lets see... 100 days was up LONG ago. the person. The president does not control the economy. Business controlls the economy along with world affairs.

4) Clinton was a good president. Life was good then. Things are bad now because of George W. Bush.

Fact: George H.W. Bush handed over the presidency with an economy on a steady 5% increase. Clinton gave North Korea nuclear technology. Clinton was offered Osama Bin Laden (already a wanted terrorist) on a silver platter, but chose not to deal with him. Now bush has to deal with the consequences of Clinton's do-nothing and credit taking presidency. Affairs would probably be much different if Clinton did the right things in just these two matters alone.

If you still think the Democrats will make a better life for you after this factual editorial, there is probably no hope you will ever read your history, facts and figures to know that republicans have done the most good for this country and the democrats have largely been do nothing credit takers that cause more problems than they solve and run on lies and empty promises.

Wake up America !!!

So the only thing you can imagine that might cause this guy to start shooting all his classmates are clothes????? How fragile are the egos of our kids today that they go homicidal if they don't have the same designer jeans as their classmates!

And how is that a Republican thing, for crying out loud. If you were to believe the Liberal rants, we Republicans are all illiterate mobile home park dwelling hillbillies. Hardly the upper class description you seem to be buying in to.

Why do people look for such simplistic reasons to explain things like this? And why do they automatically try to attach a political agenda to everything?

Grow up, Imelda, and stop your hating. I suspect such attitudes have more to do with yesterday's tragedy than political affiliations.

I'm a Democrat, and I think your question is ridiculous, and if its meant to insult Republicans, is repulsive. A KOREAN man was the gunman - how in the world does that become the fault of Republicans? Richard Nixon started the war on cancer - Democrats got us vastly more involved in the Viet Nam war. There is good and bad from both parties, but to blame the Republicans for this is absurd, and possibly reprehensible if its meant in a mean-spirited way. Its hijacking a tragedy for your own political gains, and it is going as low as you can go - if you are serious.

Sorry, you are wrong. Im a middle class Republican who doesnt care what socio-economic class you are. Im in college. The blame lies within the 23 yr old who shot the people. To blame anyone else, and especially use this incident to bash the other political party, is sick and shows the character of the person posting the question.

I knew it wouldn't be long and someone would try this stunt. The only person responsible for the VT shootings is the guy that pulled the trigger. It is not the Republicans fault. It is not the Democrats fault. It is not President Bush's fault. To suggest anything else is irresponsible on your part.

No. don't politicize this tragic event. Your statement evokes this situation between the rich and not so rich in this country which is fine but has nothing to do with VT. Show some respect for the dead and their families.

The person responsible for the shootings in Virginia is the one who pulled the trigger.

Um, that's a wee bit of a stretch.................the term "fashion police" is a descriptive term and not somehting that exists in reality. Nobody is forcing people to be slaves to fashion or status symbols.

So no.

i'm as liberal as they come, but no they are not to blame. to say that is crazy.
gun laws do need to be toughened though. there is no excuse for this kid or many other legal gun owners to have ever been allowed to purchase a weapon.
