Let's face it; they are not trained as a security force. It is has to be up to the individual. I am glad I can call 911 and wait 10 minutes for the police; in the mean time my kids and I have been killed.

It should be illegal for any entity to forbid the carrying of guns on their property.

Gun control is another means for the liberals to force us to rely on their version of the state.

Maybe you should do something to defend you and your kids instead of just waiting for the police you coward. Your saying if somebody is trying to kill you and your kids your just going to call 911 and hope the police show up in time to stop them. If it happened to me I would call 911 but I'd still fight for me and my kids. I hope when your kids grow up they are a better parent then you.

I think you must realize the the VA Tech Campus Police were initially in charge of the situation, not the city police.

Secondly, if you are not a felon, you can own a weapon to protect you and your family.

The reason for the "entity" to forbid guns is for the protection of its students and faculty. The shooter at VA Tech wasn't supposed to have the weapons he did have, and like many, he was breaking the law.

I do agree with you however, there are some gun control laws that do need to be amended for private persons to protect themselves.

The fact that it takes ten minutes for the police to get there is not a sign that the police are incompetent. Police can't be everywhere at once. Chances are that even if there were armed guards in the same building as the shooter there would still have been fatalities. I believe that more gun control, not arming of all would be a better solution (not a perfect solution, but a better one)

Whatchutalkinbout Willis?

You do bring up a good point: Forbidding the right to bear arms does nothing but put law-abiding citizens at a disadvantage. The courts have always upheld a citizen's right to defend her own property, even with deadly force.

I doubt that this issue would have altered the effect of the events that occurred yesterday, though, which is why I began with "Whatchutalkinbout Willis?"

I doubt there is a thing we can do to prevent something like this. It's happened often and will keep going on and I have no idea how to stop it. If we ban weapons we will only hurt the ones that are trying to protect their families. I believe it is illegal to carry a concealed weapon unless you have a permit in most areas. What about the towns that passed a law saying EVERYONE had to carry a weapon. Crime dropped like 70%. If we knew what to do this stuff would have stopped long ago.

THe US police is much more efficient than the Indian police.
Try to file a complaint and it takes 3 years to START investigations.
Another 8 years to try and find the criminal.
To top it all the court trial takes a good ten years. And most of the time an innocent is imprisoned

To try and somehow blame the police force for the deaths here is cruel. You obviously would have seen this coming after the first incident? Why can't we just blame the guy who did it, not use it as a way to further some political cause?

100% correct , the SOB that did this did not have the gun legally so another gun law isn't going to do a thing

waiting for the police to protect you leaves 32 dead

i carry a sig 220 .45 ACP LEGALLY .

and my gun is a threat to NO ONE unless i have to defend myself and then i would only call 911 to tell them to bring a bag

Maybe if we had tighter gun control laws this idiot wouldn't have been running around with the weapons he carried.
hmmmm.....

I haven't heard anything in the news about the police being incompetent in this matter. In fact most of the reprots say they were on the scene promptly. It's people like you that woant to point blame whenever something goes wrong. How are you helping society?

I totally agree. The only thing the cops can do right is write me a ticket!
That guy didn't have those guns legally anyway. Where do you think he got them from? And more laws on the books wouldn't have prevented him from getting them.
