Does anyone find it interesting that we don't know much about this shooter - other than he was an "asian" student? Give me your opinions about why that may be the case. Does anyone remember a shooting at a mall in Utah and recall "why" there was little discussion at a national level as to background and motive of the assailant? Do you find any similarities? Explain.

I strongly agree with Canadian Copper! It seems that curiosity always produces a myriad of questions from the general public when the "need to know" is at its' strongest.

The investigation into this case will take some time to sort out all the background and foreground information. Certainly it's a case that will demand priority with faster results than other type cases.

The typical "Monday morning quarterbacks" will allege incompetence yet considering the public facts known, it appears everybody was doing the best under the circumstances.

The victims and their families have my utmost and sincerest condolences.

Well, the police needed time to conduct an investigation and get a positive ID. Remember, he shot himself in the head, so an ID based on physical features was very hard.

There was a conference about 10 minutes ago where he was identified by name.

I think we don't much about this guy yet because Virginia Tech's trying to cover a lot of it up. They made some serious errors in judgment as regards to notifying students, securing the campus, etc. that led to the other 30+ people getting killed.

The more that comes out on this, the worse VPI's going to look.

Identifying a person who has shot himself in the face is not an easy task.

We know so little because it happened yesterday!

The police may still be trying to sort out who he was and what his motives may have been. It will come out in time.

Why do we demand instant answers?
