God chose me.....I did not choose Him
He called me into His marvelous light 7 years ago this month.
He chooses people....people do not naturally choose Him. We are sinful and could never choose Him without the penetrating help of the Holy Spirit.....the 3rd Person of the trinity

I was looking for an answer in regards to what does God have to offer. I grew up in a church that preached "Hell and Damn Nation" I did not know about Christianity then. I joined a cult (Mormons) to find God, All the time he as with me, keeping me in the Palm of his hand. then one day I heard a pastor talking about the "Armor of Christ" It was then God opened my eyes and I knew that Being a christian was the right thing to do,. I now know The Way, The Truth and The Life. I'm not perfect but I am forgiven. I am saved and sanctified by the grace of God.

Well I thought I was saved before I got saved. In other words I was in church already, but God showed me on March 4, 1999 I wasnt saved. I guess you could say there was some fear cause I didnt want to die not knowing if I was saved or not.

What brought me to God? The knowledge that I would never make it on my own. I know that I am far from perfect and when I found salvation, I knew that there was only one way back to Heaven. That's one of the things that brought me to God.

probaly fear of hell and hope of heaven, but I believe the bible is the word of GOD . In GOD'S word He tells us if we simply ask Him He will save us , and it is forever not just until we sin again Because until we get to heaven we cannot be free from this body of flesh!

Is getting saved a choice? That would indicate that getting saved is something I do...and I believe it's something that God does FOR me.
To quote Martin Luther:
"I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to Him; but the Holy Spirit has called me by the Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the true faith. In the same way He
calls, gathers, enlightens, and sanctifies the whole Christian church on earth, and keeps it with Jesus Christ in the one true faith. In this Christian church He daily and richly forgives all my sins and the sins of all believers. On the Last Day He will raise me and all the dead, and give eternal life to me and all believers in Christ."

I am saved because of Jesus.
I realized I am a sinner on my way to hell.
I realized what Jesus had done and I accepted Jesus in to my life. Now I have salvation

Getting "saved" is not an "event" - it is a process. We add NOTHING to that process....it is all a gift...a gift of God's unmerited favor (grace) towards us....the price was paid by Christ on Calvary, we add nothing to that. God washes us clean in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism ("baptism doth now save you..." St. Peter).
God brought me to God. That's how it works.
