Actually, the truth is that NASCAR would dearly love to lure Danica to compete. I know I wouldn't mind, not one little bit.
There is no driver weight advantage in NASCAR as any differences in the weight of the drivers is compensated for with ballast (usually lead) located in the frame rail under the driver's door, so that the weight of the cars is as close as possible. The racing weight is 3,600 lbs and if your driver is in the seat, the car better way 3,600 lbs minimum or it won't race. It wouldn't matter if a flea was driving, the whole package better way 3,600 lbs.
This is why you may have heard Tony Stewart say something about her weight as being an advantage in Indy cars but yet you have never heard a peep out of him over some of the little drivers in NASCAR. Tony knows that as the drivers come to take the green flag, all the cars are as close to 3,600 lbs as humanly possible.
The ballast location is monitored closely and must be enclosed , accessible with tools only so driver's cant "dump their load", as has been known to happen.

No she's not that great-and if her weight was such an advantage, wouldn't she be doing well in the IRL? Why would she dominate? She hasn't ever won a race. I am an Indycar fan and I don't care for her- I hope she goes to Nascar soon...then I wouldn't have to hear about her.

What does this have to do with NASCAR racing? Your appearance doesn't matter on the race track, what matters is how you perform. So far, Danica Patrick hasn't proved herself to be a formidable NASCAR driver, and she won't be racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series for a long time this year. Jeff Gordon is already married, and I don't think he really cares about this.

Nope...if she were to come over to Nascar she would not dominate Nascar. Who in their right mind is scared of her? The Nascar guys are not keeping her out...she herself has said that she does not want to come over to Nascar.
Her weight would not be an advantage in Nascar because all of the cars are required to weigh the same amount. Have you ever seen Mark Martin, Kyle Busch or Kurt Busch in person? They are some skinny guys, yet their race cars still weigh the same as someone like Tony Stewart, Dale Jr and Ryan Newman's car.
The only thing that she would be able to "steal" is the spotlight at the autograph lines as fans would be lining up to get her autograph but she sure as heck wouldn't be dominating the race track.
She hasn't even won a race in IRL yet and she's been there for 2 years now. She needs to win some races in IRL along with a IRL championship before she even thinks about coming over to Nascar. She needs to prove to the IRL fans that she deserves all of the attention that she gets. She gets more attention for her "good looks" and "sex appeal" than she gets for her racing ability.
She needs to focus on getting better in IRL and getting better with her driving ability period point blank before she tries to come over and race with the big dogs in Nascar.

I do not honestly think ANY of the newcomers into the CUP series will ever 'dominate', there is WAY too much talent on the track and in the pits. It would take a while. Plenty of publicity, yes, but to steal the show, i doubt it. I also do not believe that her weight would be that much of an advantage....I've met a few drivers, and some of them are so tiny, much smaller than they appear on T.V. (lol). Have you ever seen Mark Martin in person??? She may want to strengthen her upper body, the steering wheel has to be turned, and gears need to be changed, not at all what she's used to driving.

I don't think she'd do that well in Nascar. Has she won any IRL races? I don't think so. Plus, Nascar has a much longer race season, that'd wear her out. She'd need to start in an ARCA car first, maybe even a part time Busch schedule. But I'm ok with her coming to nascar if she can get it done.

As a chick, I hate to this but, NO. I watched a highlight from last year of her throwing a fit after being taken out in a race that she wasn't even running that well in. Stewart and Kyle Busch catch sh** for their tantrums, so I think one hissyfit from her would make her a joke in Nascar trying to run with the big boys.

i dont think so. she hasnt placed well in any of her indy car races yet. and in interviews she has said she isnt intrested in nascar. and as much as people bemoan it as a white male sport i am sure nascar would love to find a female driver for all of the positive exposure, publicity, and new female fans it would bring to the sport (look what tiger woods has done for the pga). but i think they worry that if they pick a female driver who isnt very good that it will put off their fans and have people saying she only got in because she is a woman. kinda like indy car letting a woman in and turning her into their poster child even though her performance in races has so far been really sub par.

No way she would dominate but Im pretty sure she would have the biggest group of fans! There are alot of women into NASCAR and if they shop on the online superstore like my wife, OMG!!!
One things for sure, At least once a month, she would drive aggressive and all the other drivers would just stand clear! Imagine looking in your mirror and seeing a chick on PMS coming fast on your bumper at 190mph with a MIDOL sponsored car screaming "GET OUT OF MY WAY A$$HOLE".

people think she is the greatest driver ever, because she led some laps during the Indy 500.
The only reason she led those laps is because she stayed out during a caution when everyone else came in for gas. When they went back to green she was in front of everyone, then with 15 laps to go she had to come in and get gas. So the media hyped it up that she could of won the Indy 500 but she ran out of gas.
Duh,
That's why everyone else came in for gas.
If she was that great she would be dominating the IRL series.
She is cute, but you need to be more than cute to win races
