I work at a Goodwill store in Ohio.. Until recently we were only allowed to buy stuff from the store we work in only when we were not at work or before or after our work day.
Now a new rule has been put in force. Now if we want to buy from a Goodwill Store, the purchase must be made at a store that we do not work in .
But if I used gas to travel to another store, it would cost me more. I may as well shop at my local Wallmart, Meijers or Sears.
Please support Goodwill employees and boycott your local goodwill store.
Would anyone that agrees with me and agrees that this is a stupid idea, please comment on my remarks

You want us to boycott a store you work at because you don't like a rule, when a boycott if effective will put you out of a job?

Have a friend come in and buy it.

I had an Aunt who used to volunteer at a store similar to goodwill (charity based thrift store). She used to remove all the good clothing and give it to her grown up children who could very well afford to buy their own clothes. I believe the purpose of the rule is to try to keep this from happening.

Sorry, even if we had goodwill stores, I wouldn't support such a boycott.

I have to agree with the rule. Too many stores of this same sort saw employees get the "good stuff" and leave nothing for the public at large. My wife shops at GW every week and has seen this happen more and more.

Sorry, I will not support your boycott.

It's not a stupid idea. I volunteered at a thrift store once and watched the employees pilfer the good stuff. The store is there for the public and employees are not the public.

I do not see how that would help. You best think of another solution.
