Christians have an old saying: "You only love God as much as you love the person whom you love the least."

Do you agree with this?

Who is the least-loved person in your life and why?

What have you (or will you) do to increase your love for this person?

I encourage each of you to reach out to this person today and show them you care, regardless of what their reaction may be.

I wish you all peace.

I am a Christian but I still fall short of God's glory daily.....

I still have a real hard time forgiving my ex-wife...she's the kind of person who can make the pope throw the first punch if you know what I mean

Thank you for this...........

That is a really good meditation.

Believe me - I have a hard time loving certain persons. I do try to think that those persons may have had an incredibly difficult life or haven't been loved enough themselves, which is why they act the way they do.

Take Saddam's son's for instance - they had a HORRIBLE upbringing - completely warped and abused. Are they fully responsible for their actions when they have known nothing but cruelty and abuse from their father and were actually taught to be inhumane and cruel to others and desensitized from childhood?

So, whenever I am having difficulty loving someone, I try to think that maybe they haven't been loved enough to begin with. How sad is that?! Then I think, maybe I can be the one to show that person love. And then anger towards that person turns into compassion. However, it is something I struggle with daily in accomplishing and it is REALLY hard to put into practice.

God forgives our sins without blinking an eye. It makes me feel ashamed that it is so hard for me to forgive others that have done much less transgressions against me.

Thanks for the meditation today!

I don't agree with that, because it means that you only love god as much as you love Satan, or the follower of Satan.

I honestly don't believe Christians think like that, for the most part.

I believe all humans are deserving of a baseline level of respect that they can earn their way out of via their actions.

Thanks for the sentiment. But my least-liked person is my lesbian drug using ex-wife. She's got marks all over her from people touching her with 10 foot poles. When we were married, she was so loud during sex the neighbors started to complain, so I told her to stay away from the neighbors. I wouldn't say she's gross or anything, but part of her morning ritual is combing her arm pits. She can't wear Odor-Eaters because they keep climbing up her hairy legs.

Matthew 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me." It is what we do for the one who is the "LEAST" that we have done for Christ.
Good thought.
