When colleges cease to be money-grubbing businesses with just as much concern about the bottom line as any other corporate entity. They profess to be noble institutions of higher learning, but they are knee deep in textbook, sport, and student loan mongering. They will accept a foreigner's money just as willingly as they go after a U.S. citizen's....................

Student visas right now are the ONLY category that has a visa exit tracking system and internal checks. That is how we found the 11 Egyptian students last summer within a week when they didn't show up at the University. So this student, according to press, was a legal RESIDENT alien. That means he may have been at school, but not on a student visa. We have no tracking system for that, and Homeland Security JUST asked yet again for more time to put the mandated visa exit tracking system into place.

We need to have enough places in OUR colleges for our own qualified students. However, part of education is meeting people from other places, too. I'm for better tracking on all visas, personally.

Oklahoma City, Ruby Ridge, Columbine High, and Waco were all perpetrated by white heterosexual Christians. How about the unibomber, and the vast majority of serial killers? Should we prevent white heterosexual Christians from obtaining student visas, or immigrating, because of it or does it only apply to Muslims, Asians, Blacks, Hispanics, and other people of color? Are you willing to dig into your own pockets to compensate the schools for the millions (perhaps billions) in lost tuition and revenue? How about the damage to the economy of communities (like mine) where there are universities with a large number or foreign nationals?

I guess on the outside looks can be decieving and a lot of the people do not have a past i.e criminal records etc so i guess the visa issusing office thought it was safe. We only see people on the outside and not what is deep rooted. * don't blame the student visa system not everyone that comes here wants to blow buildings up or kill people.

We are a country focused around immigration, which in itself is not a bad thing. The problem I see is that we do not seem to care when people enter illegally or get in legally and then stay even after their visas expire. Why do not do more about this is beyond me, to expensive, maybe we should stop giving these people benefits like social security and drivers licences.

So you stop issuing student visas, lets let them just walk over the borders instead. It has to start with border controls. At least with student visas there is some documentation

So....hmmmm...lets carry this logic a bit further.....the logic that says that correlations mean causation.....

You are suggesting that since ice cream sales and drownings go up in the summer, we should ban ice cream....NO RELATIONSHIP

You are suggesting that if some attacks come from people who ate Cheerios for breakfast then we should ban Cheerios......NO RELATIONSHIP

Correlation does not mean causation.....

How many students have come to the US on a student visa and contributed? How many have come and learned things to improve their own situations?

Xenophobes......not the sharpest tools in the shed....
