Does anyone know how I can convert an 8 mm Video Cassette to DVD? My mother took video of my son back in 1993...and I would love for him to see them today but I don't have a clue how to do this. I am very computer literal...so I know someone out there can walk me through these steps.

I have a Sony camcorder and a DVD burner...so my question is...can it be done?

Thanks.

1. The camcorder outputs with RCA cables. 1 video cable (yellow) and 2 audio (red and white) cable. So you need a device that accepts these inputs. Most PC's dont accept these inputs.

2. You need a stand alone dvd recorder. These recorders accept the RCA inputs. DVD recorder cost between $80-$200. The dvd recorder will come in handy if you ever want to recorder tv shows on dvd.

I in basic terms did this. properly theres different recommendations yet that's how I did it. i purchased a vhs/dvd blend participant and recorder. you will get them at walmart or circuit city in all likelihood. Then all you do is put in the vhs tape and the dvd in. Set the source to dvd. Then there's a button said as dubbing, you press that and it really is going to do it for you. in case you purchase this form of in basic terms be positive to examine the guide because it will be diverse than I defined yet quite slightly everybody that I heard of do it this form has an truly similar procedure to it. also, you ought to need to you ought to genuinely finalize the dvd because then it received't play everywhere else (computing device, different dvd gamers). which will maximum probably be less than set up. Now in case you want to edit your video clips, i ought to point going a diverse direction in case you don't need to flow by ability of the "ripping of the dvd" procedure.
