I prefer Vinyl due to not denting. Dark colors fad worse than light colors because they hold more heat. If the siding is new, the color should be good for quite a while. Vinyl and aluminum both expand and contract with the temperature so the nails are not completely pounded in. The siding has slots for nailing to allow movement.

I recommend Vinyl..

you wouldnt like Aluminum the first time it rains or hails, it's loud, annoying, and dents very easily.
Vinyl is best, and easy to replace a piece if damaged.
Dark brown will fade over a long period of time, on aluminum, or vinyl..
cement board is extremely expensive, its good to have, but you will pay out the butt for it.

if you live in an area where there are alot of storms, Vinyl is your best bet here also.. becuase of the easy/affordable replacement.

I personally prefer vinyl siding. The biggest benefit is it does not dent. Stay away from the very cheapest and make sure its not nailed on tight. Its very simple to install and any person who can read directions can install it perfectly. Minimum tools are required.

I just finished building a house, and honestly, we went w/ the cement board....The paint is warranteed for like 35 years, and the "cement" itself is lifetime...It looks just like regular siding but holds up so much better....
