The Barrett .50 BMG is the most powerful in use at this time. However...the XM109 is undergoing testing at this time and will make the Barrett look like someone blowing spitwads through a soda straw.

The XM109 fires a 25 mm round called a "cargo round". Keep in mind that 25 mm is just about 1 inch. (A 100 caliber!?!?!?!)

The most powerfull on the market would be the .50 cal, but I wouldn't go with the Barret, have to say the accuracy international, cost for the fidy can get up there, especially when you go with a good scope, Leopold 12x or Yukon 3x50 2nd Generation Plus Tactical Night Vision Rifle Scope.
