If 2006 was the first year you placed your car in service, then you can file an amendment and change from actual to mileage.

If your car was placed in service prior to 2006, and the first year you had it in service you used actual, then you have to keep the actual method as long as you are using the car for business purposes.

Maybe. If this is the first year you're claiming that vehicle or vehicles, no problem.

If you claimed actual expenses for the same vehicle in a prior year and used any method of depreciation other than straight-line, you can never use the standard mileage rate for that vehicle this year or in any future year.

If you used actual expenses in a prior year and used straight-line depreciation you can switch back to standard mileage.

Yes, but you can't change back and forth from year to year, so if you already deducted expenses on that car in previous years, you can't change methods.
