My mom had tests done, they found a few growths on her liver, but after a biopsy they said that the cells in the liver does not indicate on liver cancer, but indeed originated from somewhere else. Does anyone know where that can be and of any cases that that has happened before. Any help would be appreciated.

Cancer cells in an organ originating from somewhere is Secondary Cancer.

It is sometimes not very possible to locate the Primary source. Thing is, liver is the most common site for secondaries. So the primary can be coming from just about anywhere: reproductive organs, gut, lungs, breasts, anywhere. The doctors will need to fully evaluate her to find that out. They will need a complete history, examination and a lot of tests done.

I am sorry, but secondaries are very hard to treat, though only her doctor can tell what to expect. I wish you all the best for your mother, and pray for her.

With love

Secondary metastisis could have originated in her lungs, reproductive system, or a variety of other locations. Once pathology has identified the cell type, your mum's medical team should be able to rule out certain potential locations and begin testing for others.

My dad, for example, was diagnosed with advanced small cell cancer of the lung, whcih in turn metastisized to the liver, brain, and spinal column.

Your mum's doctor should explain her options to her.

Best of luck to the both of you!

N0V-002 (novo-two) is a New adjunct medication used with standard chemotherapy tested for approval in the USA.

Increased the ability of patients to tolerate Chemo to the full 100%
Increased the Cancer Survival rate by 80%

They are accepting some patients under FDA Fast Track SPA Phase III in the USA.

See "Got the Script" message on this board, it's available outside the USA:

Novelos' pipeline of drugs is based on oxidized glutathione, a natural metabolite that is part of the glutathione pathway. This pathway is the primary determinant of intracellular redox (oxidation/reduction) potential and, as such, plays a key role in cell protection (e.g. detoxification) and in regulation of cell signaling pathways (e.g. leading to cytokine production). Novelos’ lead products are believed to act, in part, via post-translational modification (glutathionylation) of critical regulatory proteins that mediate processes including immune function, cell proliferation and tumor progression (in combination with chemotherapy). They may also sensitize tumor cells to certain chemotherapeutic drugs by modifying drug detoxification processes.
