Some critics of the bible and Christianity would argue that *ANY* attempt to curtail human preference is "too much".
Plainly, however, some degree of godliness and adherence to God's Word the bible is good. Jehovah's Witnesses believe that teaching bible truth "more correctly" is even better.
(James 2:19) You believe there is one God, do you? You are doing quite well. And yet the demons believe and shudder.
(Acts 18:24-28) Apollos... was well versed in the Scriptures. This man had been orally instructed in the way of Jehovah and, as he was aglow with the spirit, he went speaking and teaching with correctness the things about Jesus... When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him into their company and expounded the way of God more correctly to him.

That's like asking if God expects too much, because JW's teachings are based on God's Word, the Bible. You may think that our teachings are strict because other religions do not aways follow the Bible. For instance, some churches tolerate homosexuals, and will even appoint them to positions of oversight in the church. JW's do not tolerate such behavior. 1 Cor. 6:9 says that men who lie with men will not inherit the kingdom.
Also, JW's do not tolerate those who smoke, overindulge in alcohol, abuse drugs, committ sexual sins, and other things. But many religions look the other way when such sins are practiced.
La Chacha above says JW's do not like Mormons. That is not true. We don't dislike anybody. Jesus said that love would be an identifying mark of true Christianity. (John 13:34, 35)
One major bone of contention that others have with JW's is that they reject the trinity. The reason they do is because Jesus never taught the trinity to his followers. It is a false teaching.

The question is a bit vauge. I notice you asked before if our standards on morality and pagan holidays were to strict. Honestly, I think the answer is no, no matter how you see it. If a person, does not agree with how we see things such as no sex before marraige, then they can always choose to not be Witnesses. If someone decides they want to be Witnesses then they know our beliefs, and are deciding they agree. So either way, no, since whatever the person decides they get to behave as they choose.

Edit:
In my experience with some (not all) Jehovah Witnesses, I got the impression that JWs didn't like Mormons. I know that sounds like a generalized statement, I know not all feel that way. As a result I don't know much about JWs.
I don't have an opinion, but if a JW wants to comment on my answer, I'd like to know about it and some more about JWs. I'm curious about them and their beliefs, I've never been able to sit down or learn about them, those particular JWs have always left whenever I've mentioned that I'm Mormon.

Compared to what? God's word the Bible or "Orthodox" Christianity? What standard of measurement are you using? What is your touchstone?

depends what you mean
God expects your all
I admire their sincerity but I am not persuaded their anonymously translated Bible is a good translation and the doctrines they have I think do not accurately represent the nature of Jesus or salvation.
You could do better going to a Bible believing more orthodox church

Kinda, they said that only Jehovas witness can be save.. Its not true,
Yet to ALL who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God - John 1:12
Jesus Chris is the only way, not religion..
