Nicky....why the hell are you asking perfect strangers to recommend an after care lotion? I assume your artist gave you aftercare instructions. Or did you get your tat from some scratcher on the street? Look back at the answers you are getting. I see Diaper Rash medicine ...... Hemorrhoid Cream for crying out loud.... Somebody else is recommending vaseline. (you might as well pour motor oil on it.) DO WHAT YOUR ARTIST SAID!!!! Thats what you paid him all that money for ..... Don't you realize that 90% of the people answering haven't got a clue about what to put on a tattoo.
For example...... I would first pour on a layer of tabasco sauce (it burns the bacteria out of the tat). Cover that with the blood of a lesbian virgin. (not sure why). Wrap the tattoo up good in toilet paper, soak it in gasoline for an hour and the light it. When the toilet paper ashes fall off the burns will form a protective crust that will keep your tattoo safe from harm......
good luck with that

I worked in a tattoo shop for years and I will let you in on a little secret. No lotion is best. After we would get tattooed at the shop we would take a paper towel, and soak it in scalding hot water, we would place th towel over the fresh tattoo and let it sit there for a minute. Then we wouldn't lay a finger on our tattoo's until they healed. This was 6 years ago and my tattoos look so good still people think they are new. Tattoo shops recommend lotions because they know people are high maintenance and want the tattoo experience to continue after they leave the shop.

My dad's an old school tattoo artist and he tell everyone to pop a vitamin E capsule and rub that on. I thought he was crazy and spent $25 on tattoo ointment. On my second tattoo, I spent too much on the ink itself, so I tried the vitamin E, it healed faster, felt better and my colors are brilliant! Good luck.

I have always used aloe vera gel ,better from a plant but both sooth & heal naturally. I started using it because I am allergic to alot of the over the counter ointments & creams.I realized Aloe vera would do the trick because it works so well for burns. It will not harm the color either.

Calendula cream. It will speed up the healing, prevent infection and it's nice smelling.
Depends on the artist. Usually they have some ointment for you on stock (either free or at a small extra charge)

A&D ointment for the first 2-3 days, then switch to an unscented hand lotion (such as jergens)

I use Aveeno lotion & it works great for me. Alot of the tattoo ointments out there are too greasy to use. This stuff is gentle and absorbs very well & if you keep on top of it, your tatt will heal faster.

Until it's healed a bit, don't bother with lotion if you mean a vaseline based lotion. Neosporin, etc are generally not a good idea.

Hemorrhoids are associated with constipation and straining at bowel movements. How to get rid of hemorrhoids https://tr.im/Vceyo
Pregnancy is also associated with hemorrhoids. These conditions lead to increased pressure within the hemorrhoidal veins that causes them to swell. Other conditions, for example chronic liver disease, may also cause increased venous pressure and may be associated with hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are very common and are estimated to occur in up to one-half of the population by age 50.
