Beardless, as the Good Shepherd, By the fourth century He is depicted as having a beard as often in modern art. Old testament descriptions of King David allude to his physical attractiveness, it is interesting that there is very little in reference to Christ's appearance. I find it interesting how the earliest known renditions describe Him. But I must say that regardless of the Savior's outward appearance , I love and serve Him for Who and What He is, agree?
Are we looking for a savior who matches our image of Him.
Or are we unconditionally loving a savior Who gave Himself for us?

Yes I had noticed. The fashion in Jesus' day was for short hair with a short-beard; no doubt he followed this as well. We can tell he had short hair because St Paul was so insistent that men must wear their hair short - he is unlikely to have said this if Jesus had bucked fashion and worn his hair long.

Jesus often disappeared into crowds when being chased by the Romans; we might infer from this that he was a pretty average-looking guy.

If you want to know what Middle Eastern Jews looked like in that time, very much like modern-day Egyptians and other Arabic North African people. Documentaries on the New Testament on the Discovery Channel often use Moroccan actors for this reason.

There could be a few reasons for this, perhaps the Roman Christians had never seen a Jewish Man( not very likely but possible) perhaps because of the split between Jews and Christians they wanted Jesus to look as themselves non-Jewish,but no matter the reason they went to their death for Him,would we do the same today I wonder?

Yes, again I agree!
He loves us unconditionally, He gave His life for us, the just for the unjust, to bring us to God. How can we not give Him our lives in return to love and serve Him. What an awesome privilage!
