I started VCE 11 this year, and i'm finding it really hard to cope. I did really well previous years, i got A's and stuff but this year i seem to go downhill and i'm really scared i won't get into uni. It seems as if though nothing i do is right, and i've already tried my hardest. I've started smoking to dim down the stress and it feels like i'm going to explode soon, i get depressed when i think about my exams and how i am going to fail it if i don't get A's. How can i do better?

Get 1 on 1 counselling, you need someone to talk to!! Ask your teachers for help. Study with friends and swap notes.
Be your own friend. Love yourself!
When anxious, make yourself breathe very deeply and slowly - this will relax you. Never pant.
Nicotine in smokes makes you more edgy.
Good luck! Do not stay all alone.

Well you not to not worry too much. Whatever happens it is not the end of the world.

Studying at school is very hard and causes a lot of stress. You need to think about some stress management techniques. These include going dancing, or going for long walks. Smoking is bad for your health, but actually it helps you concentrate better.

Enjoy yourself. If you spend some time each week enjoying yourself it will be better. No matter how much work you have, take time to enjoy yourself. Another trick is to seperate out study and your own time. At university I did it by only studying at Uni, and never studying at home.

Remember there are many other options available to get to university. You can repeat or you can wait a few years and return again, or do another course that will help you enter university.

Next, just focus on doing the best you can.
