Its stalking right, to even consider looking up a casual acquaintance from years ago? We went to the same Univ. Mildly obsessed but now very ashamed (I've actually searched her on the net). DO NOT WANT TO BE A STALKER. It seems like contacting her would be the only way to let go -- (of nothing -- There never was an 'us'-- I know, I'd like to be ruled by reason.) But having a hard time with this one.

Looking up old friends/acquaintances is fine. I've done it a couple of times and both times the person was happy to hear from me. One person and I still correspond, which has reignited our friendship. In fact, there are web-sites devoted to looking up old friends. Find a phone number or e-mail address and say Hi.

If you are still feeling this way after all of that time, it is best that you leave her alone. You will probably scare her. If you care for her, you would not want to do that.

This would depend on your intention for contacting her and whether or not you would be willing to accept her answer if she told you she was not interested in re-establishing communication, or is married, etc.

Since you were once obsessed with her it would be best for you not to contact her again.Move on.
