My ex who lives 3,000 miles away and I are in communication now, after a year of brutal misunderstanding. Something felt wrong with all of my attempts at going out with others; same for him, too, and I finally visited & realized I still loved him and wanted to make him happy. I actually told him I would probably love him for the rest of my life, and asked him again to consider moving to be with me. He said he wasn't ready to get back together because he didn't feel like it right now, with all the water under the bridge, but also he wished the last year hadn't happened, and that he had been veey much in love. He said some tender things as I left him, and when I suggested we stay in touch, absolute joy leapt into his face. We are emailing almost every day about what we are doing, what we are trying to accomplish, how we feel about our lives. We have been doing this for about a week. It doesn't feel sexy, especially, but something is happening but my question is, what? What d'you think?

It could be that you ae successfully if gingerly negotiating the next stage in a relationship (after the passion and madness)..... and perhaps that could lead to a better understanding. On the other hand maybe you both have had a rough time and are just clinging on to something that feels real because it is familiar. I would be wary of couning too much on it until you have spent a lot of time in the same city seeing each other regularly over a few months. BUt all the same, good luck and hope it works out!

Love doesn't always have to feel sexy. He may just be testing to see if there really is a chance for the two of you. Give it some time. There was plenty of problems in the past year. Both of you need to get past those problems in order to start anew.

Give him time he may only feel happy that you are on talking terms once again sorry to say but he may just want to stay friends life is too short, you will just have to let him decide in his own time if he wants you back he will let you know, you told him how you feel hope turns out alright for you both good luck :)

U must really like him. Well sounds like 2 me that u 2 are made for each other. *thinking* I say u 2 should get back together (and it sounds like that he would like that).
