I have gotton cold sick 5 times in the last 5 months,w hich is not normal... any suggestions???
I have been cold sick (sore throat, runny nose, caughing) that ususally lasts 3-4 days, once a month for the past 5 months. Could it be that I have mono? or I'm just that run down??? I recently started a new job, but I don't think that all the hours could really have that much to do with it? Any suggestions?

I work almost 60 hours a week and am getting ready to graduate as well... I also started a new job and moved to a new apartment which might have something to do with it... (the apartment is old) I do take a daily vitamin and wash my hands probably waaay to much...

Someone complained that you keep posting the same question. I guess you didn't like any of the answers. I haven't seen it before so I'll reply.
You're over stressed for one thing, working 60 hr/wk, starting a new job, moving to a new apartment.
Taking vitamins helps if you're taking a multi vitamin. Washing your hands helps you not pick up germs from other people. So those are good ideas.
You could help build your resistance to colds by drinking about a quart of orange juice each day. When I met my husband, that's what he suggested since my colds would kill me for 3 weeks at a time. When we decided to drop the amount of sugar in our diets, I changed to making hot lemonade sweetened with Splenda for a regular drink that would give me the benefits of the OJ.
You could also be having allergy problems. That usually brings itchy eyes along with the cough, runny nose, and sometimes even sore throat.
If you are feeling really drained of energy and think you might have mono, you should go to a doctor for the blood test. We can't tell you if you might have mono... Only a doctor can after checking you out in person and running a blood test.

Acai fruit
This little berry is one of the most nutritious and powerful foods in the world. It can often be found in juice form in health food and gourmet stores.
Anything in the "Allium Family"
Garlic, onions, leeks, scallions, chives and shallots can all help the liver eliminate toxins and carcinogens.
Barley
This can be used as a breakfast cereal, in soups and stews, and as a rice substitute. Barley's also high in fiber, helping metabolize fats, cholesterol and carbohydrates.
Green Foods
Green foods like wheat and barley grasses can be bought in powder, tablet or juice form, and offer greater levels of nutrients than green leafy vegetables. They also help cholesterol, blood pressure and immune response.
Buckwheat: Seed & Grain
Buckwheat is loaded with protein, high in amino acid, stabilizes blood sugar and reduces hypertension.
Beans & Lentils
You can reduce cholesterol while beefing up on antioxidants, folic acid and potassium. Try kidney, black, navy, pinto, chickpeas, soybeans, peas and lentils.
Hot Peppers
Both bell and chili peppers contain antioxidants, have twice the Vitamin C as citrus fruit and work as great fat burners.
Nuts & Seeds
You can't go wrong with a handful of nuts a day—walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, macadamia and pistachio nuts contain Omega 3 fats, which are great for your heart. Raw, unsalted nuts and seeds are best.
Sprouts
Numerous varieties of sprouts are great with any meal. They're a great source of protein and Vitamin C. Try adding them to any dish and your immune system will get a boost.

OH MAN DO I!!! I have NOT had the flu or a cold in 4 years! I have been taking Echinacea. PURE. Nuttin else added to it. Two capsules three times a day if you have been exposed to ANYTHING! and do it for 14 days MAX. Studies prove that nothing is gained after more than 14 days. IF, you happen to get sick, then start taking it immediately, and you will get better FASTER! I was totally amazed at the results, as I am around SICK PEEPLE ALLATIME! Oh wait, that's another typa medicine. hehe

You could be suffering from stress. Take pleny of vitamin c. There's also an amino acid called 'glutamine' which is very good for stress related illnesses and can boost your energy. It worked for my daughter.
