I was driving on the expressway and I got cut off lost control of my car and slammed into the concrete wall. I was going around 80 mph I drive a two seater. I walked away with a minor burn on my arm from the air bag. My front end is smashed to all hell. I'm just shocked it wasn't worse. I guess my question is why am I still here? I don't see how...

I think the manufacturer of the car would have the same thought.

aside from your airbag, the fiberglass that most two seaters are constructed of these days is designed to collapse around and absorbed the impact when doing so. steel side beams also keep the car's body from intruding into the passenger area. safety glass shatters instead of creating the shards that used to rip into passengers. even the majority of head light lenses are plastic adding and aid in absorbing impact. seat belts keep you from being tossed out of the vehicle which was a major cause of death in older car crashes. a lot of steering wheel columns are designed to break away into the engine compartment. most importantly in your case, the engine itself is designed to break away and fall down instead of impaling the passenger as in the days of old and the front hood is designed to pancake so that it doesn't enter the passenger compartment either. also, the front bumper is also, fiberglass backed by a type of styrofoam that again absorbs impact. cars today are built very well and have to be in order to be competitive on the market.

so in short, you are alive because of the superior engineering that goes into today's automobiles.

plus, let's not forget that you're blessed. have great things left to accomplish in your life and God wanted you here for a purpose. - remember that..... it's the REAL reason.

Well, to me it just seems like you got lucky. Especially with only a small burn.

Not finding that convincing? Are you looking at it on a religious perspective? Well, maybe God has a reason for you to be still alive. He did for me. A missionary when she was a child left bed at night and had something to eat. When she came back, there a sharp piece of wood pierced into her pillow, and if she was still there, she would have been dead. There are many ways, then just that and many possibilities. Right now, the most certain way is just to look at it as being lucky - if not, God will continue to help you see it his way.

Some would say it just wasn't your time yet.. others would say it's the saftey features of your car.... I would personally call it just good old fashion dumb luck....

I've had more than one crash that I never should have walked away from.. and have... either someone want's to keep me here on this planet.. rather than 6 feet under.. or I'm damn lucky behind the wheel.....

Why do YOU think your still here???? That's the better question.. are there things that you need to resolve???

I know the feeling. I too beat the odds, but I didn't walk away, it took about a year to get fairly well back together.
thank the guys in the engineering department for making a safe car.
You got lucky, now slow down, you may not get a second chance..

Get the same exact car, remove the air bag and slam your car into a concrete wall at 80mphs again. I'm just curious to see what happens to you then.

Someone or something is looking out for you. Take the opportunity to look at your life up to this point and if you want to make some changes then now is the time to start. You've been given a second chance so be true to yourself and don't waste it.
