Hi,
Migraine is a neurological disorder that is characterized by severe and recurring headaches.
The Main reasons of Migraine are:
Migraine tends to run in families. It was earlier believed to be caused by unexplained swelling and contraction of blood vessels in the head. Recent research, however, suggests, that certain environmental stimuli cause an imbalance in the brain chemicals called neurotransmitters, which might then cause the blood vessels to expand and cause the pain. These stimuli or triggers may be unique for each individual. Some people may have a more sensitive nervous system than others, which makes them more vulnerable to these headaches.
Other risk factors for migraine include stress, certain foods such as cheese, citrus fruits, chocolate or alcohol (particularly red wine), poor sleeping habits and hormonal changes.
The Treatment Of Migrine is as under:
Treatment for migraine is aimed at providing immediate relief from pain in the attack. For this, drugs that reduce the constrict the blood vessels (Sumatriptan or ergotamine), anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen and naproxen, are prescribed. Other pain-relievers (analgesics such as paracetamol) with anti-nausea medications such as metoclopramide may be used.
Some drugs can be used to prevent attacks occurring in those having frequent attacks (more than one per month). Drugs that work in this way include Propanolol (a "beta-blocker"), Pizotifen, Sodium Valproate and some types of anti-depressants (TRI-cyclics). These drugs are taken continuously rather just during an attack.
Since a migraine attack cannot be totally avoided, the patient should take care that of the precipitating factors are reduced to the minimum. They must avoid foods that trigger an attack. Regular exercises and stress management are helpful.

Migraines can be caused by so many things. Stress, lack of fluid, lack of food, eye strains due to eye sight issues, food allergies, weather and what not.
They also can occur in many different forms. Some can be effected by bright lights and nothing else. Some by loud noises. Some caused by both. Others can be caused by sudden loud noises. Migrains have even been known to be caused by severe drops in body temp.
Sometimes caffiene will help a migrain to go away and other times it requires being in a dark, quiet, secluded room with cold temps being sent into the room or cold cloths put on the body.
Some people can get rid of their migrains by taking OTC meds such as Excedrin Migrain and resting for a few hours. Others require being under the care of a doctor and prescription meds.
If you have no success with the OTC meds and lots of dark quiet cool rest then I would suggest paying a visit to the doctor and talking to them about it.
Good luck cuz there is nothing fun about suffering from a migrain headache.

Migraines are a very complicated thing. Go to your library and find books on Migraine by Dr. Seymour Diamond. This may be helpful. He has a migraine clinic in Chicago which I have been in twice in the early 90's. Mine are quite controlled at this time although I still take preventative medications that were prescribed there. Good luck.

Medicine science doesn't know the cause hence there is no treatment with them.
Excess heat, bile and constipation are main reasons. Other reasons are cough, sinusitis, blockage of Vital Energy and worry! Now tell me which of these reasons can be treated with meds.
Acupuncture is the best remedy. Day before i have treated 2 yrs' migraine case!
Ask your friend to squeeze two drops of drumstick leaves' juice by pressing in pinch and drop in opposite side nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A.
