Switch your view.

Right Click 'Start'>Properties>Start Menu tab>Customize>Advanced>Deselect the "List My Recent Documents" box

Right click Start, select Properties > Customize then Advanced tab, at the bottom uncheck 'List my most recently opened documents.'

I believe you cant.
Just right click on taskbar the part thats blue
go to properties
click on start menue TAB
hit customize
then hit clear.

hover your mouse cursor above the start button then right click on it, go to PROPERTIES then click the START MENU tab, there you can uncheck the STORE AND DISPLAY A LIST OF RECENTLY OPENED FILES
