The caffeine in soda can be addiciting. If you are drinking that much of it you need to consider the health risks of drinking that much sugar every day (diabetes, high triglycerides, bad teeth, etc). I used to drink about 6 Dr Peppers a day and after some scary blood test results I switched to diet. It REALLY sucked for about 2 days but now I can't drinkt he regular stuff. So to quit I would recommend taking it in steps. First swicth to diet. You will still get the caffeine. Then just limnit yourself to x number of drinks per day. Heve someone help you monitor it. Having someone occasionally say "hey man I thought you were cutting back" when you drink too many of them can be useful. Good luck.

It is a bad habit. Plus the intake of sugar isn't good for you. I was like you but I had a roommate that refused to buy it. I got to the stage where I would only have it when I would eat out. After time I started to notice soda made me full fast. Drinking soad can cause kidney stones too. can you image a stone the size of a quarter coming out when you pee?? Just imagine that....

This is probably a habit, not an addiction. The only thing that could cause this is the caffeine and it is something that we need to taper off. Try substituting that doesn't have caffeine.

It could be the sugar. Try switching to diet.
