The next time you are in the grocery store, take a look at the nutrition labels on a carton of Whole Milk, a box of Powdered Milk, and a can of Formula for young children. Compare them side by side, looking at the nutrients, and making sure the young children are getting the fat needed for their age.

Check it out for yourself, and you be the judge.
Also, next time you are in to see the Dr. ask this question.
You can also call your local Dept of Public Health and ask the nurses there.

I'd be careful feeding any large amounts of sweet feed to goats. Feeding some is okay, but an excess of Molasses in goat feed has been known to cause Goat Polio. If not treated goat polio will be fatal. We started raising goats 6 yrs. ago and didn't know about the sweet feed. We ended up with 2 goats getting Polio. Since then we feed Dumor Goat which can be purchased from Tractor Supply. It has everything they need and they seem to thrive so much better on it.

It is as safe as regular cows milk. If you are concerned about giving them cows milk and that is why you switched to powdered milk then I would suggest switching to Soy Milk. It is better for children anyways. Pediatricians to suggest not to give children under 2 cows milk so I figure how safe can it be at all? And Silk is the best I have tried so far. My kids and my niece and nephew all love it. They even have chocolate soy milk.

If you are using the milk along with other nutritious foods for their age group I think the powdered milk is great.
