Motrin is an NSAID.

NSAIDs cause minor bleeding in the stomache lining resulting in stomache upset.

Take the meds with a substantial liquid, like milk - or if you can tolerate yogurt... etc. It will help. "I'd say take it with food" but after a root canal... I know better!

Peace - and get well soon, hon.

That happens when I take motrin, even if I take it with food. I take naproxn ( I think it is over the counter as Advil ) when I need a anti -inflamitory it works for 8 hours and if I can't stomach any food I just take a couple of Tums with it to be on the safe side so it doesn't mess with my stomach.

It is from the Motrin. Motrin is brand name ibuprofen, which can be pretty harsh on the stomach. Take it with some food or a full glass of milk.

You have to take Motrin with food, or a glass of milk. Any type of ibuprofen can cause a GI bleed if taken for any period of time on an empty stomach.

There is no averse interaction between the two. You could potentially be allergic to either , Me i'm allergic to ibuprofen and aspirin which manifests itself in an upset stomach and hives. As a rule , though , take those meds together with some food , even if it's only yoghurt , it will help prevent an upset stomach.

Many people have problems with Motrin. Take something else. When you do take Motrin, it should not be on an empty stomach.

You need to eat something first before taking Motrin, or at the very least... a whole glass of water with it.

Ibuprofen (Motrin) can be irritating to stomach for some, just like aspirin can. Try taking it with food or milk, it may help.

Yeah, that is a normal side effect of motrin.

Remember you are suppose to eat while taking Motrin.

Crackers or a piece of bread will do.

Eat then take the pill with a glass of water.
If you don't eat it can upset the stomach.

Best wishes
