you should go see a back specialist. it could be something easily relieved through a chiropractor to something more serious, such as a slipped/ruptured disc, which could mean surgery. you definately need to go see a physician to get a proper diagnosis. you could be making it worse by not seeing a professional.

I had a bad backache years ago, so I know how you feel. It was recommended that I go to a chiropractor, but that was the worst thing I could have done. After a year of treatment, I was worse because I continually suffered with pain and it took the life out of me.
Chiropractors are not real doctors, therefore they cannot prescribe anti-inflammatory or pain relief. It was suggested by my brother that I go to see an osteopathic doctor who deals with the health of your WHOLE body. He prescribed an anti-inflammatory first to relieve the pain and then I was able to sleep and move normally again. (This aided in my recovery). After 6 months, I was almost 100 percent again!
I would recommend this treatment to everyone!

A certain fear of the unknown is pretty common to humans. If you feel so insecure about it, and think of him as a demon and boring for taking meds, you must have an attitude that tends to irritate him even more. If you truly wish to get to the bottom of it, why not be so nice and sweet and let him totally decide what the next step will be. Especially if he is in charge and or in control at work all year 'round and feels that you will be taking over because it's vacation time, it might make him real ill at ease and even scared and frustrated and he may not want to upset you with it so it becomes the same as any other stress source that men face, a pain in the neck! Don't let his pain affect you so as to cause you and equal pain in the butt, as this is where stress affects women the most! Check it out by massaging his neck and your butt and you'll see how full of pain they will be. I guarantee that they are! The only thing you can do to help your husband is to allow him to be himself even when he's not at work! as he is all year long... Let him take the lead! He's just not used to having a woman take over. Now if he happens to be doing the opposite at work where someone has his work day planned before he even starts it, it could be the opposite side of the coin that would be troubling him... And the fear might be that of having to take full control for a change... You be the judge as I don't know his circumstances or what sort of work he does... but don't go against the grain as it were and be more agreeable and pleasant about it with him... He'll soon ease off with the frustrations and begin enjoying his vacation time a little sooner every year. What have you got to lose? but being kind? Only this will allow him to forget whatever it is that is scaring him. He may be a man but is still a child as most men are! You know that! And going on vacation seems to bring that child out of him... as the daily routine is "missing". You must relax if you want him to relax!

First of all u should see a doctor to know the real cause of the problem. If nothing is serious in the structure of the bones then regular yoga, pranayam and meditation should help relieve the pain. You can also take vitamin B complex supplements to ease the nerves and I would strongly advise you not to go for surgery if you are not paralysed by the pain. Surgery can worsen your case as it has never proved to be 100% success in cases of bones problems.
Massage and accupressure do help. do adopt a correct posture for all your activities.
Best of luck.

If you have no indication of a serious underlying cause for your back pain (like loss of bowel or bladder control, weakness, weight loss, or fever), then you should reduce physical activity only for the first couple of days. Gradually resume your usual activities after that. Here are some tips for how to handle pain early on:
Stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This helps calm your symptoms and reduce inflammation.
Apply heat or ice to the painful area. Try ice for the first 48-72 hours, then use heat after that.
Take over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB) or acetaminophen (Tylenol).
While sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure.
Do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. After 2-3 weeks, you should gradually resume exercise.
Begin with light cardiovascular training. Walking, riding a stationary bicycle, and swimming are great examples. Such aerobic activities can help blood flow to your back and promote healing. They also strengthen muscles in your stomach and back.
Stretching and strengthening exercises are important in the long run. However, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. A physical therapist can help you determine when to begin stretching and strengthening exercises and how to do so.
AVOID the following exercises during initial recovery unless your doctor or physical therapist says it is okay:
Jogging
Football
Golf
Ballet
Weight lifting
Leg lifts when lying on your stomach
Sit-ups with straight legs (rather than bent knees)

Backache can easily be cured by doing meditation for an hour daily in just fifteen days to two months not by doing it on one's own limited knowlegdge by reading books or what the general public has to say but learning its techniques under a knowledgeable spiritual teacher and surrendering one's problem to the latter.

Need more info. Depends on what part of back and was it an injury that may have caused it. Ibuprofen for swelling helps and exercise. I have had a bad back for 4 yrs. Injury on meds. Still don't get a hole lot of relief. You really should see a doctor first than a chiropractor may be in order next. Just need to find out what it is first

Go to an orthopaedist and request for x-ray to find out whether any damage has taken place to your bones. Yoga will keep you fit without any medication. Allopathy will remove the pain temporarily. Ayurveda will help to strengthen the bones and surrounding muscles. Take juice of Indian mulberry fruit which will help you a lot.

Good grief. You poor thing. The problem with asking for advice here is that nobody can really answer you. There are many things that can be done for back pain, but first, you need to know what's causing it. You need to see your doctor for diagnosis and treatment. Some issues that can cause back pain could be getting worse by not getting treatment.
