I worked retail and at some points our pin pad would be down so as long as the customers card said Visa or Mcard we could run it as credit ,,but it only takes it from you checking just as if we ran a debit,, many persons would refuse, not understand ,and thinking they would get a sperate credit card bill ,, this is not true,, I am not talking about an ATM card

I don't know why some people do not understand this either. It's not complicated at all.

I only use debit cards and I only run it as debit when I want to take cash out. Some people don't know their pin which is probably why they refuse, whats it matter if they want to run it as credit or debit, I don't get what your problem is? I've worked retail for 3 years and never had people think they'd get a seperate bill. Let people run their card how they want it's their money.

Wait hold up... see on my "debit card" I earn points if I use it as a Credit Card (sign for the purchase) rather than Debit Card (put in my PIN)

and honestly, I am not stupid. but that confuses me & when someone asks "Debit or Credit" I am bout 1,000 % certain that I get a stupid look on my face while I go in my mind.. "do I want ot earn points or do & not.. and durn I gotta remember which gets me points... oh yeah, credit........... before I can even acknowledge or answer the clerk to please run it as credit & by then they have already run as Debit....... when that isn't what I wanted

Be patient. Consider putting the explanation on a paper whenever the pin pad is down so that customers would be able to read it and absorb better.

Most people are what we like to call "Normal".
This used to be called retarded but that was too mean.

So now us "special" people are stuck in a world full of idiots who don't take a foundations of business class.

Probably for the SAME reasons they tend to over extend themselves on BOTH; because they get $$$ -signs in their eyes... :)
