Iver Johnson gun and metal works I believe, doing research on an old gun that I inherited. Company may be long gone from doing business but not sure. Please help

They were gone but have now come back. You can find them at the link at the bottom of my post. Sadly they say they have no parts or drawings related to firearms made under their old name. If you ever need parts, numrich is where you can probably find them. As far as history goes you coud try posting a picture on the forum at gunboards.com and I'm sure you can get some help.

Brian, they started out in 1871 and I think closed for a spell but are back for 2007. They offer 1911 type pistols, .22s and US M-1 carbines for sale. Enter 'Iver Johnson Arms' on any good internet search engine and they'll come up.

They made bicycles then during war started making guns they are still in business I think.
