Whatever the genetic composition of an individual does not determine his/her connection with God. I would say other factors are certainly logical why one isn't able to find God in his/her own existence:
1. Psychological- each of us whether we like it or not is influenced by certain behaviors that makes our own decision making different from another. Our own experiences in life is one fundamental element that builds up these behaviors. This is why we would find some people's line of thinking or even behavior different from us.

2. Environmental / Societal- the highly influential factor that shapes our own perception of the World and let us say our view on God, is the environment or the society where we are immersed and continuesly being formed as a person. The society is very significant in imposing most of what we believe and what we view as necessary and fundamental.

3. Family- As the most basic institution, our family at the very start of our lives creates an impact in our personal understanding of things around us....most especially about God. We might not be aware by it, but in one way or another our family's view on the world somehow predetermines the worldview that we might possible have as we grow in maturity and age.

4. Personal faith- no matter how influential the society is, or how highly significant our family in our decision making, our own will and choice still could determine what we wanted to believe or not. Faith for instance, is not imposed by anyone else but it is an inner disposition that is fundamentally ours. Whether your genes is significantly different from another, this inner disposition is not determined by it. Just think about this...if you have several siblings in the family....no matter how similar your genes are, everyone is entirely different from one another: the way how one views God or the way how one interacts with others. Within the course of our lives, we build up our own biases and prejudices on things around us, our owndefense mechanisms i would say. These defenses, in most cases, blocks our attitudes toward something...like our view on God for instance. The decision is ours, we can deny or we can accept things, both seen and unseen.

This has actually been looked into- and the answer is no. The correlation is far stronger with environment than it is with genes. People who believe in god are most typically in societies where they were indoctrinated into a faith. They are genetically no different than people who grow up in countries where theism is low.

Good question though.

Nobody can find God...God just is. The idea of an atheist gene is ridiculous.

i think of that's achievable. in spite of each and every thing, the bat**** loopy fringe of my kinfolk is the fundie* Christian redneck side. Non-fundies are uncommon (even those no longer raised with the aid of fundies). The ordinarily secular side has in simple terms some die-difficult fundies, and a marvelous form of extra agnostics/atheists. *with the aid of "fundie," I propose somebody possessed of the particular type of loopy that leads somebody to have faith that even the Bible is contaminated with atheist-lies, and for this reason the only authentic source for God's be conscious is the voices he places on your head. as a results of fact "mom" and Alyssa are completely *no longer* schizophrenic. they only hear and obey the voice of the Lord.

It is Written: God desires none to perish...all are welcome...and if you seek God with all of your heart you will find Him... and there is a time and a season for everything...

God puts before us blessings or curses and we choose...He wants to bless us...God's ways are higher... Jesus Christ is knocking...we need to invite Him in...we cannot please God without faith...Jesus Christ did it all at Calvary when He died for our sins, He who knew not sin, and then the Father rose Him again ... defeated death ....it is Written there is no greater love than to lay down ones life for a friend... and Jesus Christ, He calls US friend...

Father, you are Holy and we give you all glory, Father by your power and your Holy Spirit convict hearts in Jesus' precious name; Amen. Now repeat these words and mean them in your heart: Father, I am a sinner in need of a Savior. Jesus I believe you died on the cross for my sins and the Father rose you again three days later. Come into my life, be the Lord of my life, and my best friend, and by your power and your Holy Spirit guide me all the days of my life in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; Amen.

And every Angel rejoices...
Join a Christian church; Our heavenly Father wrote us a letter (the Holy Bible) and we need to read it...seek and ye shall find...

There is some physical evidence that implies so.
Apparently we need a specific type of seratonin receptor in a specific part of our temporal lobe in order to "experience" God. Oddly enough, three percent of the population is missing this receptor. Ironically, three percent of the population is atheist (and 2.4% of them are on here) ;)

No. I think some people can not find God because they are looking for Him only with their mind and not their Heart.

Maybe, the question which that raises is whether it means they are more or less evolved than those who could find him because of their genes.
