Depends. Atheism leads to many paths. One could be simply choose to be non-religious and ignore religion altogether, don't bother anyone about their belief. Another is an atheist activists or militant atheists who proselytize against theism, and theistic religions. How militant and extreme they are in their anti-theist views will vary by person.

Atheism itself is not a belief, just a lack of belief of god. It often lead to anti-theism, the conclusion that the god belief is both incorrect and harmful, therefore needs to be actively opposed. Or lead to become non-religious, who are atheist, but aren't anti-theist, they just live and let live.

Here's an old atheist argument: do you believe in Zeus? No? Does that make you extreme rejecting such a well known, old deity? Why do you reject him?

You reject all gods except yours.
Atheists go one step further, and reject all gods.
Is that extreme?
It is the small step that makes the huge leap from theist to atheist

A form of extremism? Perhaps, in the sense that bread is a form of toast.

Atheism is not a resolution not to believe. We just don't think there's any reason to believe based on the 'evidence' available. I don't believe in Bigfoot either, does that also make me an extremist?

To me (opinion only), atheism is about what certain individuals Do Not Believe...but it doesn't have a whole lot to say about what they Do Believe. It is very easy to Not Believe something as it requires no effort on the part of the non believer. However, it requires a lot for a person to Believe in something...whether it be God or Evolution or whatever. It is all based on faith in the source of information.

I too am Christian...and wouldn't give it up for anything.

Extremists are constantly those that get the play. The media loves extremism. relatively, there are extra moderates on the two factors than you're delivered approximately have faith via the media. i think of the result would be that faith finally turns into much less significant, which, i've got faith, would be reliable for all of humanity. Thumbs-down me all you elect - that's my opinion. Why do i've got faith that atheism will "win?" because of the fact the extremist atheists who're all over the media look far extra sane and alluring than the extremist non secular people. in simple terms look on the adult males flying planes into homes. Who desires to be on their component? Richard Dawkins is plenty extra friendly and makes plenty extra sense.

Religion seems very extreme to me! The only reason it doesn't is because people have been reading myths and creating answers to the unanswerable since the "dawn of time".
Atheists have values, convinctions, spirit, normal lives... we just don't worship a physical being that is a divinity.

It seems odd that you would brag on this forum about your inability to think. Your thoughts are really goofy, and that seems to be the best that can be said about them. However, since you obviously live in a delusion, this one more isn't going to tip the scales any. I can understand why you never went to college. Sometimes they would want you to think, and from what you wrote here, I agree with you that you should give it a miss.

I suppose you could take it to an extreme just like any other thing someone believes in a lot.

What is your definition, and intent, of the word "extremism"? Atheism at least has the advantage of not being demonstrably useless.

Don't be silly.

Atheists aren't "resolved" to believe there is no god. We believe there is no god for the same reason you don't believe that there's a polka-dotted chimpanzee dancing on your head at this moment. Shall we call you an extremist for not believing that?

I didn't think so. You should have thought about this before posting it. You're simply wrong, and just a little thought would have told you that.
