The f-150 North American (US/Canada version) edition is made in the US at the Kansas City or Norfolk, VA or Detroit MI plants (thanks Ford man)
design was by a group of engineers assigned to the truck vehicle group in Dearborn,Mi .. All their job is, is to design this vehicle
The company was started basically in 1896 when Henry Ford built his first quadcycle and sold it but Ford man is correct with the company being founded June 16th,1903
For others, there are too many options (which also depend upon where in the US you live (such as the Twin Cities, Chicago, or Seattle districts) to even go into detail here (as Ford offers sometimes packages in one region that it will not offer in another) ... Plus you didn't say XLT (Cloth base 4dr truck) ,FX4 (a special 4x4 edition set up with special 4x4 offroad gear) ,Lariat (a leather and more optioned out vehicle) , King Ranch (a lariat that features custom seating made from real leather hides from the King Ranch of Texas), or Harley Davidson edition (a edition styled after a Harley Davidson motorcycle)...
