I'm 17, I want to get one this summer, I live in Detroit. Just wondering, I heard someone say it was 17 before. Just wanted some clarification

I'm not sure why you want to go to Canada to get your tattoo, but I'm guessing it's so that you can get it earlier than you would be able to here. ( I don't know if the age limit is different, I'm just assuming). I know you don't want to hear this, but the wait is actually a good thing! I'm underage too, and have taken the time 'til I'm legal to research designs and artists, so that when I can get one, I'll know what I want and who I want to do it. Without the wait, I probably just would have gotten what I wanted a few months ago, even though I've made some changes to it now. I hope that helps you change your mind about the wait, if that's the issue!

You have to be 18 to get a tattoo without parental permission. I think some places will do 16 or 17 with parental permission, but that would depend on the studio itself. Our laws are pretty much the same as the US.

I live in Saskatoon, I believe the age is 18 but you need photo ID.
