I'm not a hater or a troll so don’t blast me or insult me for this comment but it seems to me that the whole 'secret' is predicated on an incredibly juvenile misunderstanding of physics. They claim that everything in the universe is made up of energy. That’s an astoundingly ignorant statement. In the deleted scene portion of the bonus materials part of the DVD (original edition) some guy shows Einstein's great equation E=MC^2 then continues to misinterpret it suggesting a knowledge of physics equal to a middleschooler. He makes the common mistake of thinking that energy is the building block of matter; that when you break something down to its smallest part you'll get energy. Not true. More properly, the equation implies that mass (a property) is a kind of energy (like kinetic energy is a kind of energy). That is, everything with mass *has* energy, not "is made up of" energy. Energy is a property, like mass, momentum and charge, not a substance like water or iron that things can

Yep. Welcome to the wonderful world of people not understanding basic physics, assuming no one else does either, and then trying to use it to justify whatever crazy theory they came up with.

Methinks you are mistaken more than just a bit.

In the Newtonian world, matter is matter. In the quantum world, this changes. There is nothing solid at the quantum level. A table may be made of atoms, but those atoms are made of electrons, protons and neutrons, which themselves are made of things that behave nothing like matter.

The universe is energy. Did you know that light can be shown to be both particles and waves, AT THE SAME TIME! Did you know that an object, a visible object can exist at two distinct places AT THE SAME TIME!

In the quantum world, things change. Measuring something changes it. Looking at a thing changes it. Altering a particle in one place can affect another particle elsewhere that has no physical connection to the first.

The "Secret" is much closer to reality than is comfortable for many people. Try another movie that might just show you a bit about how weird the world really is: It' "What the Bleep Do We Know?" It might give you a bit of insight into the areas which you are lacking in at the moment.

You know, all I want to say is that you have the right to have your opinion on that.

But... I have one question for you... Are you a quantic physician to assume what you wrote? Hmmm... I'm sure that you're not! Can you explain to me the work and beliefs of Einstein? I'm sure you can't! Did you know that Einstein believed in the power of attraction???

What I can say to you is that I know physicians myself and everything said in the Secret about physics is right. And I apply the law of attraction myself and I'm very wealthy since then. I'm sure that everybody that wrote bad things here are not... But you know, I respect your opinion. You are the one who decide how you want your life to be.

Well, I was going to ask what the hell this "secret" was, but I figured no one would tell me, since it's a secret. Thank you for your rational post. Sounds like typical hyped-up fodder to make $$$$$$$ off of the vulnerable, nothing new, of course.

The Law of Attraction is an insult to both science and religion.

I've never even heard of this before I saw it on Oprah. Seems to me like a ploy to get housewives to part with money - junk science at best.
