How do i do this?

Question

I want to have Jesus Christ as my lord and savior, but i dont feel like i am talking to anyone when i pray, and when i pray, i do not know what to expect back, a voice, a writing, a picture, what do I expect? Some people say i just dont belive in God, but i do, its just like there is a wall... Its like i can see God, and look at him, but i cant get to him, or feel his presence in me, and I don't get it. When people say i don't belive in God, it dosen't really bother me that much because its like I really know I do. But I cant get to him.

its like this, when you are trying to reach something just out of reach, but no matter how far you stretch, its just not enough. And whenever you try to stretch its like prayr, its not working for me, and I keep thinking i will do something and get the "Final Stretch" and finally get the thing i was trying to get to.

Please someone help me.

Well I think you say you are a Christian, so I will except that. Have you ask Jesus into your life. God is not something ...he is someone. He is not a picture, or a feeling, he is a Heavenly person. When you pray, always pray in the name of Jesus. Because no man comes to the father except through him. I'm going to pray for you, and ask other Christians to stand in agreement with me.

Father in the name of Jesus we approach your throne. Lord Jesus you see this post, you see this heart. I am glad that you are searching for and desiring God. It is the most important pursuit you will make.
You do seem confused. "I want to have Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior" and "but I am a Christian" make for backwards statements. If you are a Christian, you have Him, because you have confessed that you are a sinner, asked His forgiveness and asked Him to be your Savior and would know with certainty that He is.
I don't mean to be harsh in saying this, because you can gain what you seek.
Can you talk with a local Christian? A pastor or elder at a Bible-preaching church? Face-to-face guidance will be very helpful to you. If someone can talk you through this, asking the right questions, leading you through this, then you can gain the assurance that you seek.
God is there for you, my friend.

First of all, don't let or listen to anybody when they say that you don't believe, just because you feel this way and everybody is different with their feelings, just ignore them or don't tell them if they are going to judge you. As with what your expecting, well, its not about that, when you pray, just have faith that He is listening and that's what it is. I believe that God is everywhere and if you try to be the best person that you can be in your life ( hey, nobody is perfect ) everything will be okay.

What I have found with myself when I feel distanced from God is that there always seems to be unconfessed sin that I have committed... search within yourself for anything that may be distancing you...I am usually the cause I don't pour my soul out to him and take total dependence on him alone but with this realization I asked for forgiveness and I could feel his presence.. the lord loves a repenting heart

step one: ask Jesus to come into your Heart and Save you.
step two: ask the Father to Fill you with HIS Holy Spirit.

Being filled with the Holy Spirit gets you that Praying Closeness to GOD.

dude..you already there!! Faith is the belief of things not seen. Check out Abraham, he believed and it was not until old age that he had a son!!

Don't expect everything to happen all at once. Being a christian is a process...just follow the teachings of Christ and you can't go wrong!!!

1. It is NOT about "just believe."

It also doesn't happen overnight.

This can be hard. Are you sure you are saved? That you have the Holy Spirit? You have to be sure - Please pray this prayer of salvation to Jesus - from your heart - like you really really mean it.

Dear Jesus - I know I'm a sinner and have broken the Ten Commandments. Please come into my life Lord Jesus and save my soul. Thank you for hearing me Jesus and for saving me with Your Power. Amen

If you prayed this from your heart - you will be saved - that is what the Bible says. The Holy Spirit will come and reside in your heart. Now go to Jesus and pour out your heart, your life, your hurts, everything to Him in prayer - He will hear you - spend some time with Him telling everything and speaking to him outloud. He WILL hear you.

If you have already been saved and know that you have the Holy Spirit - pray a prayer of dedication to Jesus - something like this and from your heart

Dear Jesus - I am rededicating my life to you now. I relinquish my sin and myself, wanting to give my whole life fully to you Jesus. Please hear me and bring me back into followship with You. Thank you for hearing me. Amen.
