all i have on my screen is a little keyboard in the left hand corner and that is it. i do not have the disk as i lost it when i moved. I have looked in microsoft.com for repairs and i have not found any. How do i get my tool bars back?????? and a functional microsoft word? I clicked on the paper clip also and he is useless, i got to one point where it said i could put item on the bar, but they were not fuctional either, i believe it was "custom" you tools. I am lost and i am pretty computer stupid, so any help would be useful except for sayin shoot yourself and end it now.

right click the task bar and go to options

This actually sounds like you made an error that wrecked the program. You can go to a P2P like morpheus and get another copy of word to reinstall it. But first try to open it from a template because it also sounds like someone may have deleted the normal template. If it is missing I find it is best to uninstall and reinstall.

If you still have the "view" on the bar click on "toolbars." That should bring it back and you can go from there.

Try Open Office, it's free and compatible with M$-Office.
