THE TRUTH IS THAT A ROOT CANAL AND A CROWN IS THE STANDARD OF CARE FOR TEETH THAT HAVE IRREVERSIBLE PULPITIS WHERE A NERVE IN A TOOTH HAS DIED.

If your tooth is cracked, there is a good chance you have an infection in the roots. When I have root canals, my endodontist puts antibiotics directly into the shaft to help the infection. Not only will this clearly make your teeth and gums healthier, but it relieves the pain.

I extracted a molar due to severe infection and decay. Once you have a tooth extracted, however, you need to replace it with a bridge or implant within six months. Otherwise, your adjacent teeth will begin to shift, and the bone where your roots were once anchored will decay. Having a root canal and crown is far less expensive than extraction.

I never had a molar worked on, I had one extracted. I asked the orthopedic surgeon I go to if my teeth could be fixed and he told me that he could do a root canal. Then he also told me that in about ten years from the time it was done it would most likely have to be done again so I would be better off having the problem teeth removed.

I hope this helped you & good luck!

tooth that have been root canaled would desire to be crowned to guard them from fracture. while the nerve is removed from a the teeth it desiccates because of the shortcoming of blood grant and this will develop the probabilities of fracture which will reason you to lose the the teeth if the fracture isn't repairable. Molars have a miles better possibility of fracture when you consider that they are the typical chewing tooth.

That's a difficult situation but a good dentist may be able to treat it.
