sure it matters that you are a Christian!

I talk to God in prayer... I talk to Him thru-out the day... and I know that he is listening to every word....

when I talk tho, i know in my heart that he hears me.... and even tho He may not 'answer' right away, it is all about trusting that He will... even if sometimes, the 'answer' isnt what I may want to hear.

Do you read the Bible? try just having some reading time... and then pray about what you have read, asking God to show you more in the Word.... it is a good way to build up that relationship!

good question... keep seeking God and He will reveal himself more and more thru people and the bible and more!

Relationships don't get closer and better unless you talk to a person. I think God works the same way. The more you talk to God, the more comfortable you feel. God probably doesn't feel like He's listening to a wall or a ceiling. Just keep praying and pray like you know your prayers matter, because they do. Jesus tells us that. So pray with courage and expand that relationship with The Lord!

Pray the Lord's Prayer exactly as is. It's an excellent prayer that encompasses everything.

Or, pray the psalms as is.

If you want more of God's spirit, I don't think you're alone. Society's going through a bad time at the moment. All people can think about are the kinds of illnesses that come about because of not thanking God - such as anorexia. What about children being taken off parents, like Angelina Jolie's newest adoptive child? Why couldn't the mother be helped instead? She couldn't even afford $20 for some kind of fee that she was being charged. That's just awful.

Also, remember this:
Proverbs 14:10
Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy.

You can see in scriptures such as Isaiah 59:17,
He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on his head; he put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak,
that God has his good and bad days too. Not in terms of being grumpy, but in terms of being worn out with disobedient mankind.

I like the encoding and decoding model of communication. It means that you're dealing with a message that needs to be interpreted in the light of many variables - background noise, character of the person, context of the conversation etc.

Pray, talk to him as anyone ! I felt like I was never reaching God until I got baptized, that changed everything. It does too matter that you are a christian !(You have Jesus!) Now I have a new prayer request :)
pray for your family: protection from harm, strength...
for you:
Pray about everything ! For people suffering. Never give up! Reading the bible helps me think of good things to pray about.
Soon prayer will become natural and you'll do it all the time, not just before bed as I once did.

Any time and any where if you open up yourself honestly you are praying. Often I talk to God while driving alone in the car, and after I let it all out of my system and get quite the answer may come. Then again my prayers are often answered by the people he puts in my path. The main part of prayer is being honest with yourself, God is already aware of what is in your heart, it is a matter of getting honest and letting go off all the things in life weighing you down and listening. I find it hard to hear when I am still talking. LISTEN.

specific human beings won't be in a position to take heed to God yet they might experience or experience issues from him in basic terms in each and on a daily basis life, even the undesirable issues that happens with a guy or woman is a candy issues through fact it relatively is a try from God. additionally once you ask God for some thing you spot it occurring sometimes and don't ***** if issues do no longer pass such as you elect for through fact meaning the difficulty is in you. apart from, God talked to absolutely everyone from previous and present day and coming generations by using a messages that seem by using holy books, especially those days from the only risk-free books that stayed THE HOLY QUR'AN

like you talk to your friend, your brother, your father, your master, your (insert good title here)..... like a human being who knows best, who has your best interests in mind, and who you respect at all times.

God isn't always about a physical feeling. If you always expect to feel "bliss" or "like energy flows through you", therein lies the problem. God has a habit of showing up in ways that are not what you expect. i.e.: Balaam's donkey. God doesn't even have to speak back in an audible voice. i.e.: the writing on the wall in Babylon. sometimes He can speak through another person, sometimes by getting what you want through diligence. it can be complicated sometimes.

basically, don't give up. most Christians go through this. basically, it takes faith. sometimes, it can feel like the more you pray, the worse it gets. The Spirit does work in mysterious ways sometimes. sometimes it takes self evaluation: maybe sin is hindering a "yes", maybe you're not completely comitted to God, maybe you doubt Him too often.... who knows. just keep praying, believing and have faith.

Make sure you're someplace without distraction. I usually close my eyes because I can concentrate better. Then think about what you want to say, and just talk to Him.

By the way, we can only come before the Father by way of the son. One of the things I often do is thank Jesus for making it possible for me to come before the throne of grace to obtain mercy. That's a verse in the bible. I've also found it very powerful to pray to God using His own word.

Keep doing it and you'll begin to feel the connection you wish, really. And don't forget to read and study the bible. Knowing His word enables us to line up our prayers with His will.

May God bless you for seeking Him.

I have recently come to the conclusion that we all have different gifts. One of the gifts is in giving audible prayer that is a blessing to all that hear. Short, and not encumbered with a bunch of fancy phrases. Not all of us can give audible prayer without our thoughts immediately being turned to ourselves such as, "How do I sound?, What are people going to think of me especially if I get emotional or my prayer is not answered...how will I look?" etc. In that case it is best to keep your prayers quiet and to yourself. It is okay to let people know you are praying for them. However you have learned to interact with people will be how you interact with your Savior until you are comfortable with Him and learn to fully trust Him. Prayer is the opening of the heart as to a friend. I just feel like He is constantly with me and I do not have a formal way of praying. I do believe many people instruct their children incorrectly in prayer. They say, "Dear Jesus". Jesus told us not to pray to Him but to His Father through Him. I think the Father is often left out of our services. Once when I brought a Muslim friend to my church I became very aware that all the songs and the entire message was about Jesus and the Father was left out entirely. Whenever you study the word pray for the guidence of the Holy Spirit and have Him help you. The words may not come out right but God reads the heart. Mmm

It will feel that way at first, but don't let that stop you and read the word, pray according to the word, the Lord will reveal himself to you if you do not give up.

Study scriptures about hindered prayer.

Some things that hinder prayer are

unconfessed sin
unforgiveness
arguing with your spouse

these are all scriptual, so make sure you are not walking in disobediance.

God loves you

Just as you would a friend...Let Him know what is on your mind...He is listening, and desires your company...He will respond through various channels.

Praise Him..and thank him for the good things in your life. Confess any sin that may be in your life..Let him know that you desire an intimate relationship with Him..

Somtimes going on a long walk at night and talking with God is a good "prayer closet"...It does not need to be done on your knees in a closed room...talk normal as you would with a friend...let Him know what is happening in your life and let Him know about what emotions you may be experiencing.

The bible says that we have not because we ask not...We need to petition God.. he hears our prayers before we even pray...
