If it were me I would chose Amar and Pankaj, easy to pronounce and not to difficult to spell.
As an American person if your kid has a name that starts with pu they will really get made fun of as in P.U. I would try to avoid that if possible.
ps Lakshmi is a really nice name and I also know someone with that name too...
