Unless I’m much mistaken, I believe that I’m detecting a number of trends in this forum that, for me at least, spoil it. First, I think I’m seeing more and more “Questions” that aren’t questions at all: they’re simply political or religious rants, framed as fake questions, but actually soap-box speeches about some nutcase’s hang-up. Second, I’m seeing many more “Answers” to real Questions that aren’t answers at all: they’re just (usually extremely juvenile) attempts to get a laugh from moronic members of the Yahoo! community. Probably I won’t give up entirely on trying to answer real questions to the best of my ability. But I’m certainly getting jaundiced about this whole circus, because I feel that the zealots and the class-clowns are, between them, wrecking this for those who seek real learning. So here’s the multiple choice. Should I: -
[a] Quit?
[b] Make up stupid “funny” answers to serious questions?
[c] Engage in religious / political rants in response to every religious / political question?
[d] Keep trying to give sensible, truthful answers?

Thank you --- all of you --- very much for your Answers. I was (still am) afflicted with a heavy cold, and rather depressed. Your generous encouragement helped. I'll keep Answering, but maybe less often than hitherto.
For me to select a Best Answer would not be fair. All of you helped me. So, I must leave this one to the whims of the dreaded Voters.
Thanks again, all of you.
