I need to install a 1/4 inch solenoid valve in a hydraulic system. It will be on the non-pressure side and only need to hold about 700 pounds of weight when the ram is pushed out.

You usually do not support loads off of valves.

You will need to know the maximum internal pressure of the hydraulic system in order to set a rating on the valve.

You've not provided enough information. To calculate the pressure, one would need to know the cylinder size, rod size, and actual force being exerted on the cylinder.
