I am going to be deploying again and i want fresh veggies and fruits this time so i was thinking of growing them myself.

I like tomatos cucumbers watermelon strawberries and basically all sorts of fruits and vegetables.

My problem is that i dont know what is easy to grow in a desert enviroment. I know i could rig up a shade so they dont sit in the sun all day but basically i am clueless on this subject.

Can anyone help?

Tomato seeds require a soil temperature of 80 degrees to germinate so you should do well with good soil and a water source. Look for small tomatoes labeled for 60- to 70-day maturity. Yellow Pear, Cherry, Sweet 100, Earlypak, Earlygirl, Small Fry, Patio, Champion, Earliana, and Sunripe.
Good luck in the project
