Portable dvd players...?

Are portable dvd players allowed on to be brought on to the airplane in carry on luggage, and watch a dvd? I dont even know whats allowed and whats not anymore with all these restrictctions....

Yes, they are allowed, but you can't use them before take off or before landing.

i think they are, because when i went on the plane people brought their laptops. anyways why not? i mean it isnt a dangerous objects... OMG be careful or ill chuck my portable dvd player at you!!!
