Now answer this, How come Christians believe that a god created them from thin air in seven days but the evolution of species that took billions of years doesn't make sense? On that same note if a boat full of different species were the only surviving species, then why are there so many species here today. Do you REALLY believe all that flash or do you just go along with it cause every one else does and your afraid of going to hell. Answer this with out saying illogical things like, "cause god says so" or "god has all the answers" as a matter of fact try not to use the word god of faith..

libsR4kids... ARE YOU SERIOUS! You need to go back to college and take some anthropology, biology and chemistry classes. 12 thousand years,, you really need to think about that one, and no we did not come from some swamp, it took alot more than eucaryotes from swamps. (but dust made us is so much better stated than science.) 12 thousand years,, thats funny!

I dont assume to know the answer. I just want a straight answer. I have studies life and history but I want to know what makes sense in other peoples minds and what part of it makes sense to them. Oh and i also what to know why they completely disregard science.

To those who say we did not evolve, and believe they are in no way related to chimps, then why do we share 98% of our genes with them?

Well Man was not made out of "Thin Air" and it only took one day not seven, as you put it. As far as "Evolution" is concerned, Where is that missing link to pull it all together to make it a known "Fact"
Until this is done, I won't take for word for some man "Darwin" who could not even get a PhD cause he could not make the grade, for a Fact when in fact it is a Theory.

I did not come from some sludge left on the ground and was walked on by only God knows what.

Why do I surmise that any answer given to you will be replied to as being illogical?

First, God did not create man from "thin air". He created man from the dust of the earth. If you know your science, you will find that the earth contains natural elements and nutrients to sustain life. With the hand of God, he was able to create life from it.

Secondly, the THEORY of evolution is just that... a THEORY. There is not one single bit of evidence of evolutionary effect from species to species. Micro-evolution only rarely exists within certain species but macro-evolution occuring between two separate species simply does not exist. After all, if we humans are so evolved, then explain how a man walks into a school and methodically kills 33 people within just 30 minutes without any remorse?

Thirdly, ALL species were created by God and none other. They did not evolve nor were they formed from some primordial ooze in some swamp in Africa some millions of years ago. In fact, the earth is not older than 12,000 years. If you can prove to this world that the evolutionary effect between two species has occured, then I will consider the theory. But, heck, scientists don't even have an explanation as to the cause of the effect we know of as the "Big Bang THEORY". So, why the hell should I believe what they have to say about this issue? You can't create order from chaos... think about it.

Lastly, YES I do believe "all that flash". Not because I was told to believe it, but because I have encountered the very God that created it.

JUDAS RAGE'S - With your latest remarks, it sounds like you have already made your decision. By the way, BOB is completely wrong. The BIBLE is indeed LITERAL.

It's hard to answer any question about God without using the word "God" or "faith". But I'll try. I am Catholic. Raised as one, left the Church for 15 yrs, did things my own way, then returned to the Church 4 yrs ago becuz my way was totally wrong. My logic, my reasoning was off course. even with seeing a psychiatrist, 3 counselors and being a meds didn't help until I began to pray again and read the Bible. I had to truly look at my real self and figure out my prioritize my life. I'm still learning as I get older. The Bible is a harsh book to read. It's like [Him] literally kicking me in the *** and telling me to stop that and do this instead. It's hard sometimes to do the right thing, the right thing according to [Him], not according to man. I do not believe that everything was created in 6 24-hour days. It could have taken thousands of years or a million of years. But logically, an almighty power can create things in its own special way within a short period of time. And maybe [He] created certain things through the process of evolution. The Church doesn't dispute evolution, it's only disputes that mankind evolved from early ape creatures. Your statements are what only a few types of Christians still believe. Many don't think this anymore. If you are interested in learning what the Catholic Church teaches, I suggest you go to www.newadvent.com and to the vatican website. Other Christian churches may teach things somewhat different. I'm not sure. Logically, if there wasn't a God, I could see that all of this would have to have billions of years to come into existence. But then I still would want to know how it began to begin with. Since God exists, logically we know that He started it. I'm not sure how, maybe He snapped His fingers, maybe He drew in the air and it came into existence, maybe He thought about it and it came to be, etc. But it just did because He exists. That's reasonable to me. The thought of all of what we know that is in this universe happening from 2 tiny atoms just slamming into each other by chance seems illogical to me. I'd rather have faith in God than believing that I am here because of a rare chance or of pure luck.

You ask a question and then tell us how to answer it. Brilliant.
Are you a vulcan or something? Logical, illogical...there is nothing logical about faith.
First of all it took 7 days to create the earth/universe, and men were created from dirt/ woman from Adam's rib.
I believe in it all, because I know it is true. God is not a logic thing, He is an emotional/spiritual connection. God does make sense, read the words written and you will see the fact. Go to a revival, and you will feel that it is fact. Once he has touched your life, you never turn back. But in order for him to touch your life, you must first ask him into your life, and then study his word so you will know how to live. It takes work to have a relationship with God. Just like a mate, or a friend.
Defending God is our duty, and privelage.
You think what you want, you are entitled.
Do you believe in fate?
Can you see it? Touch it? But can you feel it?

Negatory. God and logic don't belong in the same sentence.
Evolution IS.
But looking at the vastness of the universe could make the whole discussion useless. Consider that Arcturis(Sp?) is so huge... by comparison our SUN, which we consider humungous, is a single pixel.
We can only imagine what is 'out there' beyond what science has detected. Then we might wonder what created - whatever is out there.
Fundamentalists probably insist that 'god' or God created it all. But...what is 'all' when talking about infinity.
So why not stifle all the fanaticism or ignore it and think of it all as a cosmic enigma that can never be solved and surely shouldn't cause Man to waste time poindering, debating, hassling one another about it.

While I believe just from your comments that you had your mind made up before you even asked the question, and just wanted to waste 5 points and stir up something, I'll still throw in my two cents worth.

Imagine an empty field with a rock in it. And there's a watch on the rock. Where did that watch come from? Think very hard on that.

As for evolution, why aren't we still evolving??? I mean, if I can become better than this ...?? Is human form the end??

Interesting how Darwin died know that he had been wrong, though he could never convince anyone of it. They chose to believe his theory, but when he came back and said he was wrong, they ignored him. And now look at us. He's probably rolling over in his grave.

i dont belive god created everything in 7 days in the way we think of days now. before time, earth and light, how does one measure a day? I do believe that we were created from a greater being, that started making creatures like dinosaurs and as those grew old and needed a new challenge, he eliminated them, iceage. different types of species were created until man which was the last and greatest creation. I dont belive in evolution, how does an eye evolve if one didnt exist already to know that there was a world to look at? Faith is what we are both working on here mine is in God and Jesus, yours is darwin and evolution. you have no proof of evolution, there should be thousands of fossils of crossed up species but there are none. They are all of different types of birds or monkeys or man. We are one gene away from a chimpazee and two away from a tobacco plant, I dont think that shows evolution as much as common building blocks from the same creator. Ford makes several different vehicle types but all share some like componets b/c its easier to build with what you know.

The bible tells us god exists so it must be true!

I don't really believe that, by the way..... I'm an Atheist.... I just thought that was one of the most humorous answers i've ever seen in response to a question like this. Truthfully, god was created by man to answer the questions that could not normally be answered. There is such a conflict between science & religion because religions answers for everything were "god did it" and they didn't want to find out HOW things worked. Now that their followers are starting to doubt god they've gotta come up with more creative ways to keep followers & get more converts. (I.e. creationism, a compromise... all be it a poor one... between religion & science... the problem with creationism is that they take the "fact" & try to find details to support the fact... whereas science takes the details to find the fact.)

I was on Y!A on saturday or sunday & i answered a question posted by someone called MackDaddy10.... i don't even remember what the question was, but apparently my answer was too negative for him so he wrote me back arguing with me about why he feels god exists. It was the typical christian banter about there HAVING to be a god, but when prompted to give evidence i received responses like "Look around! There's the evidence!" ...... So anyway, he writes me an email talking about how god MUST exist because there's no way the universe could've just created itself... he went on to say that there has to be a creator for it... it couldn't have just appeared. So.. using HIS logic that everything that exists must have a creator i asked him who god's creator was.... To which he replied "It is simply illogical to believe that god would need a creator." ....... at that point i was completely dumbfounded! He had COMPLETELY contradicted his logic to circumvent my question about god needing a creator. (That's what happens when christians try to be logical.)

The sad part is you can't even have an intelligent discussion with them because if you give them logic the IMMEDIATELY take offense & start slinging insults or ranting about how christians are so persecuted. yeah, ok.... the gay-bashing, abortionist-terrorizing evangelical "always have to be right because the bible says i am" christians are the victimized ones.

You cannot present a logical argument/discussion with them because they feel their beliefs are being jeopardized & then immedialy you're a tool of the devil to test their faith or some other such nonsense. Truly ridiculous!

Great question, by the way! You got a star from me!

actually, we'd desire to pass against our very own logic as a fashion to return to a justifiable end that there is not any first step, or no "god". Our logic, as a human, is that each and each physique issues might desire to have a initiating and an end, with there continually being a reason for an action. to disclaim the life of a god, or a writer, or a widespread step, we'd desire to bend our logic to handle for an limitless life in basic terms before that of our expertise, or we'd desire to declare that there is not any reason and activities in basic terms handed off. the two a style of statements pass against the grain of the human recommendations, for this reason giving the top that we are the two logically fallacious, or we are incorrect.

It is not a logic to explain the existence of God b ut a book was written to prove that there is God. who created us. and that you can not question the power of God.

The intelligence of the scientist (not power) about evolution can be questioned of its logic. Have you seen a monkey in your life?Supposing the monkey will complain to you why he is still a monkey that the other monkeys evolved to man, what will be your answer? evolution is not correct. Monkeys are monkeys.

Another monkey will ask you, why some monkeys who became men are beautiful and hondsome but for me , still a monkey until I will die? Did your evolution have not included me to become man, so I may look the same?

On the different spicies which were on the ark of Noah during the flash flood, they multiplied more and more and scattered through the world to fill the earth through the power of God.

Why do you question God of his power and might?Who are you to question Him?You came from the dust and will return to dust but God has no beginning and no end.

Our belief in God is not from fear in going to Hell but fear of truth that there is God who created us.and fear of God.

If you still believe in evolution that men came from the apes or monkey, where did the monkey came from then. Don't say it came from the turtle and the turtle came from nothing but nothing. You can not make anything out of nothing.
