At least 2 hours prior your flight for international because the line for security check is the longest wait in the airport so airport authorities advise anyone traveling international should prepare for at least 2 hours. I think domestic should be short, but I advise you to get to the airport as soon as possible like at least 90 minutes prior your flight.

An hour for a domestic flight and two hours for an international flight.

If you go to a particularly busy airport like LAX add another hour for the unbelievably long security lines. If you are leaving a leisurely airport like NAS add another hour for their leisurely security check which may include a hand inspection of your luggage.

you can arrive any time, but 30-mins is the government established minimum, after 30 mins prior to departure, you will not be allowed to check in... I would say 2 hours at a major airport, 1 at a regional airport...

In the area that I live, most airports require that you check in two to three hours before your flight.

2 hours is the magic number. It's too stressful rushing for a flight. Self check in kiosks are great though. The most time consuming part is going through security screening. Also wear shoes that are easy to tke off and put on. You'll have to remove them for the screening.
