yesterday was horrible with my family, as usual. My mom and sister got in a fight and were hitting eachother, so bad my sister blew out my moms eardrum and now she can't hear out of one ear. then my mom called the police because my sister left the house and wouldnt come home.

now for today :
my mom has been crying nonstop and she says she can't take it anymore and that she hates living with us . I don't know what to do. So during school today, my sister( 17) apparently went to the social worker and stuff and now my mom has to meet with her tomorrow. I don't know what im supposed to do. I feel so helpless becuase i'm stuck in this situation and all i do is cry because i feel so bad for my mom. I don't know what to do. I just need some advice to help me get through all this disfunctional family stuff. =[

Your mom sounds like a fussing child and not the adult. Of course I don' t blame her for saying she hates living with someone who assaults her. She has let things get out of control and it shouldn't be up to you to rein everyone in.

So you're the youngest? Make it clear to them that you are the smartest. Nothing will be solved or accomplished by smacking each other around.

Your mom obviously could use the advice of the social worker. So could you girls. Meet with her, listen to her, follow her guidelines.

And, even though it shouldn't be your job, you can start to be the one who is kind, honest, and helpful, even if your mom and sister don't deserve it. Set an example. Do some cooking, some straightening up, some favors for them. You are smart and strong enough to turn things around.

You are right I am 16 I would have been crying nonstop too.I think you should talk to your Mom and sister together it may be embarassing but it could work or go stay with your grandparents they are the best continue to love them.Get into a church group pray talk to a pastor about this I promise you I promise you if you pray and talk to a pastor that really knows the word everything will work out...SMILE...this isn't your fault TRY NOT 2 CHOOSE FAULTS...LOVE is still in the family don't hide your pain let them see how much they hurt you... :)

If you know that your mom is the victim here, then what you can do is just be really kind to her. Do stuff for her, help her, talk to her. BUT also be nice to your sister, maybe you and your sister can form a bond and you can talk to her about how all this yelling is affecting you. good luck!

The social worker will handle things. There's nothing for you to do. Stay out of it.
