go to Penn Station in manhattan, then take one of these trains to Albany; Empire service, which is the most frequent train, running every hour, Ethan Allan Express, Vermonter, the Adirondack, or the Lake Shore Limited (most expensive). my suggestion is to take an Empire Service train to Albany. It makes 3 stops along the way, and runs at about 85 miles an hour for most of the trip. i hope this has been helpful. good luck in your travels.
